Taraflex® SPORTS FLOORING VIEWED NATIONALLY
ATLANTA, GA, OCTOBER 18, 2005 - Taraflex® Sports Flooring by Gerflor debuted on national television in a recent episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The team of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition completely rebuilt the house of a five-member family in Bountiful, Utah. More than 40 neighbors of the Harrison family signed an application nominating them for the home makeover because of the father’s efforts to help his neighbors despite his continuing battle with a rare form of pancreatic cancer.
The three children’s bedrooms were designed with themes. Ben, a 13-year-old, is a rising track and field star and now has genuine sports flooring in an authentic track and field design in his bedroom. Lanes of Taraflex® Sport M in Horizon Blue are divided by lines of Sandstone colored Sport M. To be certain the running track design was accurate; one of the show’s design team members visited the Olympic Oval where the 2002 Winter Olympics were held. The track theme continues in Ben’s room with runners jumping over hurdles on a track painted on the wall alongside framed photos of his father competing with the track team.
The Design Team of Salt Lake City, which worked with the project’s general contractor, selected Taraflex® Sports Flooring by Gerflor. Architectural Floor Systems of Arlington Heights, IL and Gerflor Sports Flooring, LLC of Atlanta donated the more than 180 square feet of Sport M.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition airs on the ABC Television Network.
