TARAFLEX FLOORING INSTALLED IN PAUL GERRY FIELDHOUSE ON SULLIVAN COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE CAMPUS
ATLANTA, GA, JANUARY 7, 2008 – Taraflex® Sports Flooring by Gerflor announces the installation of a new 30,000-square-foot Maple Design floor in Sullivan County Community College’s (SCCC) Paul Gerry Fieldhouse.
Three different Taraflex flooring products were used in the fieldhouse, which serves as home to athletic competitions, intramural programs, physical education classes and community events on the college’s campus in Loch Sheldrake, NY. Taraflex® Sport M Plus was used for the center basketball court. Taraflex® Multi-Use 3.0 surrounds the basketball court on three sides and extends underneath the bleachers. The other half of the fieldhouse, which is utilized for a range of sports activities, is covered with Taraflex® Multi-Use 5.0 flooring. Game lines were drawn on the flooring for five basketball, three badminton, two tennis and three volleyball courts, as well as a five-lane sprint track and a three-lane running track. The main basketball court displays the SCCC Generals name in green and basketball team’s 2007 NJCAA Championship logo.
The SCCC installation is receiving widespread recognition.
“For 2007, our parent company, Gerflor, selected Sullivan County Community College as the premier Taraflex project in North America,” says Nicolas Bauer, U.S. sports marketing manager. “It competed against hundreds of outstanding installations for the title of project of the year.”
Taraflex® Sport M Plus is seven millimeters thick with an enhanced shock absorption rate of 35%. With its restricted area deformation, there are no vibrations, injuries or “dead spots.” Taraflex® Multi-Use 5.0 and Multi-Use 3.0 meet the demands of multipurpose applications. These synthetic floors feature outstanding comfort, shock absorption, no vibration, resist indentations and reduce noise levels. Multi-Use 3.0 provides three millimeters of thickness and Multi-Use 5.0 offers five millimeters. Taraflex floors are durable, maintenance simple and economical to purchase.
